I was sitting in a spot where I had a good view of Jaclyn as well as the other
esteemed speakers, and as soon as the group walked in I had a wall-to-wall smile.
Oh of course I was interested in the subject matter, as I had lost a lot of
weight this year, so health issues are a great interest to me. I do remember
feeling really antsy near the end of the presentation, and even popping appetizers
in my mouth as I waited in line to meet Jaclyn, and hoping not to drop my cars
all over the place. I wanted to show her the cars you all had seen on this site
thinking she would get a kick out of them, especially the Ghia, which was her
ride during the shows five seasons. The second I got up there, I was cool and
collective walking toward the table, but honestly my voice was seriously higher
pitched than normal in reaction to the adrenaline that seemed to show a little.
As I conversed with Jaclyn I recalled that she had seen a lot of the dolls from
way back when of Charlie’s Angels, but the cars made an impression for
sure. As the person whom took pictures of Jaclyn and whomever wanted to be in
the picture with her saw the Mustang model she inquired what that car was. The
one thing I recalled very well was it brought back a lot of memories of earlier
days. Heck she even identified the Orange Pinto as being Kate Jackson’s
ride, the Cobra being Jill Monroe’s, and then I brought up that I was
given to Kris Monroe later on in the season (Although I had a time saying it
at first)
Anyway not only did I get to have my picture taken of Jaclyn Smith, and me but
also as you can see in the photo, she had the 1/25 scale Mustang II in her hand.
She is certainly one of the most down to earth people you would ever meet, and
her story about how she dealt with Breast Cancer is such an inspiration to a
lot of people. By the way, I am the one in the Blue Shirt, webmaster of this
web site. Unitl next time Bye Angels.

The
Moment I been waiting for.
As
many of you know, Jaclyn Smith is a huge part of a large organization called
Strength In Knowing, an organization that that educates the public about “Breast
Cancer” as well as offer support. She tells her story about her own battle
with this dreadful disease effecting 200,000 women to date, which is very moving
in itself (Considering her character Kelly Garret survives plenty of near misses).
The last stop for this tour was in Washington DC, which I live 10 miles outside
of, and even though I have a typography class that same night, some things are
worth playing “hookey” for. Any opportunity to meet any one of the
Angels is something one must make the time for no matter what the cost is. Yes
even searching for a parking space was well worth the effort.
Headed
To Washington DC, A city Schaffer Goodhugh got sent to on a wild goose chase.

I
get to the place about a half hour early, so as I entered the hotel, the first
thing I asked is “where is the conference?” and then “ can
I get a personal picture of Jacyln with me in it?” I seen a few fans get
their picture taken with one of the angels, and I for one really wanted one
for a keepsake, even though an autographed photo of her is great too (by the
way, the autographed picture I got sits shamelessly near the model car replica
of that Mustang II Ghia). As I walked in the conference room at the hotel, I
see a fellow fan Shawn there, so of course we were both talking about getting
to meet you know who, only he met Jaclyn one time at a major department store
doing a demo of some sort I forgot what it was, but it was my first time. I
know for a fact I was getting this experience of butterflies in my stomach,
I mean after all, I only seen her, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, Shelly Hack, Tanya
Roberts, and Farrah Fawcett on ABC since I was 12, Various other stations after
that including TV Land (Yes I was awake at 5.00 am just to tune in), but to
see one of them in person is an even greater experience.
